Terms of Use
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Skill Builders World USA, a company based in the state of Florida, United States.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Full legal name | Skill Builders World USA LLC |
| Filed on | February 11, 2026, in the state of Florida |
| Registration number | L26000092472 |
| Mailing address | 1317 Edgewater Dr #5794, Orlando, FL 32804, USA |
| General contact email | [email protected] |
| Privacy email | [email protected] |
| Sales email | [email protected] |
The mailing address above is not a formality: it appears in the footer of every commercial email we send, because federal law requires a valid physical postal address in each message (CAN-SPAM, 15 U.S.C. 7704(a)(5); FTC, CAN-SPAM Compliance Guide).
Decision note, for legal review. The address used is the company's fiscal address, registered on September 28, 2026 in the name of Skill Builders World USA LLC, not the principal address on file (6931 Depue Drive, Wesley Chapel), because the principal address is residential and the footer address is visible to the entire list. The FTC accepts three forms: a street address, a post office box registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox registered with a commercial mail receiving agency (FTC, CAN-SPAM Compliance Guide). The fiscal address falls within these forms and receives ordinary mail from the public, which closes the earlier open item about using the registered agent.
2. What this website is today
This website is in pre-launch. It exists to introduce Skill Builders World, the Skill Buddies characters, and the first box in the series, and to build a waitlist.
What that means in practice:
- Nothing is for sale on this website today. There is no cart, no checkout, and no field asks for payment information.
- The waitlist is not a purchase agreement. Joining the list does not reserve a unit, does not lock a price, does not oblige us to sell to you, and does not oblige you to buy.
- Sales are scheduled to open on November 19, 2026. A scheduled date is a date that can change. If it changes, we tell the people on the list.
- Quantities are limited. The first production run is a fixed lot, and being on the list does not mean a unit will be available when you decide to buy.
When sales open, they will have their own purchase, shipping, exchange, and return terms. These Terms of Use do not cover sales: they cover the use of this website.
3. Who may use this website
This website is directed to adults: families, professionals, clinics, schools, retailers, distributors, and partners.
- To join the waitlist, you must be 18 or older.
- The website is not directed to children and was not designed for use by a child. The product is about children; the page speaks to the adult who leads the activity.
- We do not request and do not collect information from children under 13. No field in our form asks for a child's data: we do not ask for a child's name, age, date of birth, photo, voice recording, diagnosis, or anything else about the child. We do not ask anyone for age or date of birth (COPPA, 16 CFR Part 312; FTC, Complying with COPPA FAQ).
- If you are a parent or guardian and have reason to believe a child submitted data through our form, write to [email protected]. We will delete the data and confirm the deletion in writing (COPPA, 16 CFR 312.6).
4. What the material is, and what it is not
This is the rule that governs everything we write about Skill Builders, and it applies equally on the website, in email, on the packaging, and in the hands of anyone who speaks for the brand.
4.1 The material supports; it does not replace
This material does not replace assessment, guidance, or follow-up by qualified professionals. It was designed to support the work that is already happening.
4.2 Nothing here is a psychological service
Nothing on this website and nothing in the Skill Builders material constitutes a psychological service, psychological assessment, testing, diagnosis, therapy, or treatment of any kind. No professional health relationship is formed between you, or the child in your care, and Skill Builders World USA or anyone associated with it, through the use of this website, through joining the waitlist, or through the use of the product (Fla. Stat. 490.003 and 490.012).
If you are seeking assessment or ongoing care for a child, consult a professional licensed in your jurisdiction.
4.3 The founder's credential, and why it is written this way
Angela Rodrigues, founder of Skill Builders World, is a psychologist licensed in Brazil. The jurisdiction sits next to the title in every brand asset, without exception, and that is deliberate.
Florida law reserves the use of the title "psychologist", and of any title incorporating the words "psychology", "psychological", or "psychodiagnostic", for those who hold an active license in that state (Fla. Stat. 490.012). Angela is licensed in Brazil and is not licensed in Florida. Writing "a psychologist licensed in Brazil" makes the sentence a verifiable biographical fact; writing "a psychologist" alone, on the website of a Florida company, would read as a claim of local licensure.
That is why the brand never uses, in any language and in any asset, forms such as "our psychologist", "created by a psychologist" without the jurisdiction, or their equivalents.
4.4 No result is promised
Skill Builders material describes practice: the order of activities, what to say, how long to wait, which prompt to offer, and when to stop offering it. It promises no effect, no timeline, no gain, and no measurable result for any child.
We do not state, and you should not infer from any of our text, that the product develops, improves, teaches, accelerates, treats, mitigates, cures, or prevents any skill or condition. A health benefit claim requires scientific substantiation that we do not have and do not claim to have (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance, December 20, 2022).
The material is based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. That is a statement about the basis of the material's design, not a claim of effectiveness on whoever uses it.
4.5 The product is not a medical device
The box consists of illustrated cards, a board, character pieces, a printed guide, and a record sheet. It is not a medical device, it is not presented for the purpose of diagnosing, treating, mitigating, curing, or preventing any condition, and it should not be used for that purpose (FDA, Small Entity Compliance Guide on Structure/Function Claims).
[CONFIRMAR COM JURÍDICO] the scope of this clause, and
whether counsel confirms that the product sits outside the medical
device regime under the current claim discipline. The research records
that classification follows the claimed intended use rather than the
object itself, and that it found no FDA guidance specific to children's
educational products (research question 5, section E.2).
5. Reviews, testimonials, and who speaks for the brand
This section exists because the federal rule on consumer reviews and testimonials has been in effect since October 21, 2024, and it governs how we request, display, and moderate consumer opinion (16 CFR Part 465).
5.1 Reviews are unprompted, positive or negative
If you want to leave a review about a Skill Builders product, it is welcome — positive or negative. We do not condition any benefit on what you write, and the product you received is yours either way.
We do not offer, and will not offer, payment, a discount, a giveaway entry, a gift, an extra product, or any other advantage in exchange for a review expressing positive sentiment. The prohibition covers explicit and implied conditioning: we do not ask you to "tell us what you loved", or anything equivalent that steers the sentiment of your answer (16 CFR 465.4).
5.2 No fake reviews
We do not create, buy, sell, or disseminate reviews or testimonials from people who do not exist, from people who did not use the product, or that materially misrepresent the writer's experience (16 CFR 465.2). We also do not buy or sell followers, views, or any social media influence metric (16 CFR 465.8).
5.3 Anyone connected to the brand discloses that connection
Everyone connected to Skill Builders World USA — owners, officers, managers, employees, contractors, agents, and their immediate relatives — discloses that connection clearly and conspicuously when speaking publicly about our products. The disclosure has to be hard to miss: in a social media post it is unavoidable, it does not live in a comment, it does not sit behind "see more", and it does not hide inside a block of hashtags (16 CFR 465.5 and 16 CFR 465.1).
The same rule applies to anyone who receives any material connection from us: payment, affiliate commission, equity, a courtesy product, or an advantage of any kind. A free product is a material connection and has to be disclosed (16 CFR Part 255, revision effective July 26, 2023).
Every courtesy box that leaves Skill Builders leaves with written disclosure instructions, and we monitor compliance. We are answerable for a disclosure failure by someone speaking on our behalf, which makes monitoring part of our work rather than a courtesy to the regulator (16 CFR Part 255).
5.4 Moderation criteria, once the website carries reviews
[CONFIRMAR COM JORGE/INFRA] this subsection applies only
once the website displays reviews. The pre-launch website does not
display reviews anywhere.
When it does, displayed reviews will be moderated under published criteria applied equally to all reviews, without regard to the rating or the sentiment. A review may be withheld or removed when it:
- contains trade secrets or confidential information;
- is defamatory, harassing, obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit;
- contains personal information or the image of a third party;
- is discriminatory regarding race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or another intrinsic characteristic;
- is clearly false or misleading, or there is a reasonable basis to believe it is fake;
- bears no relationship to the products offered.
A low rating is not a removal criterion. A negative review is not removed for being negative (16 CFR 465.7).
Every removal is logged with the criterion invoked. We do not use unfounded legal threats, intimidation, or public false accusations to prevent or take down a review (16 CFR 465.7(a)).
6. Intellectual property
Skill Builders™ and Skill Buddies™ are trademarks of Skill Builders World USA. Character names and images, including Milo and Nami, are registered trademarks or trademarks pending.
All intellectual property in this website and in the material is ours or licensed to us: text, illustrations, characters and their names, card design, board, piece molds, the content of the Adventure Guide, record sheets, photographs, visual identity, applied typography, and website code.
You may browse the website, read the content, and share links.
You may not, without our written permission: copy, reproduce, redistribute, print for distribution, sell, rent, create derivative works, use our characters or trademarks in a product, packaging, teaching material, course, service, or campaign, or use any part of the material to train an automated system.
Buying a box buys the physical copy and the right to use it with the children in your care or in your practice. Purchase transfers no reproduction right and grants no commercial license. Clinics, schools, retailers, and distributors who need institutional use or resale rights should write to [email protected].
If you believe something on this website infringes your rights, write to [email protected] describing the material, where it appears, and what right is at stake.
7. How you use the website
By using this website, you agree not to: submit false data, or another person's data without authorization, in the form; attempt to access restricted areas, databases, or another person's account; overload the website with automated requests; extract content in bulk through bots, scraping, or equivalent means; interfere with the operation of the website or with the security of the people using it.
We may remove a waitlist entry where there is evidence of false data, automated use, or abuse.
8. Third-party links and content
The website may link to social networks, third-party platforms, or partner pages. We do not control those environments and we are not responsible for their content, their privacy practices, or their terms. When you click an external link, the rules of that destination apply to you.
9. Website availability
The website is offered as is and as available. We work to keep it online and accurate, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, freedom from error, or that the information will be complete at every moment. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, including the waitlist, and we notify the people on the list when a change affects what we promised them.
Dates, quantities, components, and product characteristics described during pre-launch may change before sales open.
10. Limitation of liability
[CONFIRMAR COM JURÍDICO] this entire section. The
wording below is a writer's starting point, not a legal choice. The
scope of the limitation, whether there is a monetary cap, which
exclusions are admissible, and compatibility with the Brazilian Consumer
Protection Code — which restricts liability-exclusion clauses in
consumer relationships — are decisions for counsel.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Skill Builders World USA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from the use of or inability to use this website.
Nothing in this section removes liability that applicable law does not permit to be removed, including liability for product defects and the consumer rights provided under Brazilian law (Law 8.078/1990).
11. Privacy, cookies, and accessibility
How we handle your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Our use of cookies is described in the Cookie Policy. Our conformance status against the accessibility standard is in the Accessibility Statement. All three documents form part of these Terms by reference.
12. Governing law and venue
[CONFIRMAR COM JURÍDICO] this entire section, and it is
the most sensitive one in the document.
The website serves consumers in the United States and in Brazil. Choice-of-law and choice-of-venue clauses in consumer contracts are treated differently in each jurisdiction, and in Brazil a venue clause that hinders a consumer's defense is open to challenge (Law 8.078/1990, art. 51). The choice among Florida law, Brazilian law, the consumer's domicile venue, arbitration, or some combination is for counsel, and it has to be made with both jurisdictions in view at once.
Provisional wording, to be replaced: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without prejudice to any rights granted to the consumer by the law of their country of domicile that cannot be waived by agreement.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. When we do, we update the effective date at the top and publish the new version on this same page.
When a change materially affects what you authorized or what we promised, we notify the people on the list by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the website after the new version's effective date means you accept it.
We keep previous versions with their effective dates, so it is always possible to know which text applied at which moment.
